CHRISTMAS FAMILY LUNCH WITH QUEEN VICTORIA at Windsor Castle, 1899
The eight courses of this Christmas Royal family luncheon or dinner have been re-created by our historic cookery expert - Carol Wilson of the British Guild of Food Writers. These are Queen Victorias actual recipes and menu served to her family at Windsor in 1899.
The Windsor Castle chefs simultaneously prepared the stupendous Christmas lunch for both the Royal family and the Castles extensive household.
Much of the choice of this lunch had been influenced by the influx of French Chefs into Britain around this time.
The lunch/dinner party pack contains parlour games, illustrated recipe and history booklets, menus, invites, a music CD, trivia, organising instructions and much more.
Queen Victoria loved her huge family and their Christmas get together. Even at the ripe old age of 79 she tucked into the meal, got her usual indigestion and had a nap after the feast!
The parlour games and 60-minute CD of carol music will ensure your guests are kept awake. At the end of the lunch or dinner party play our trivia game and see how much you really know about the famous queen.
